Bhutan Road Map

Before the lateral road across Bhutan was complete, it was easier to travel down to Phuentsholing, on the southern border, and travel east through India to Samdrup Jongkhar and back up to reach Eastern Bhutan. Even now due to the extreme Alpine terrain and deep valleys, landslides can often block the way to the East.
