Tourist Authority of Bhutan - Places Open to Tourists

The following is an excerpt from the official Bhutan Tourism Authority's rules and policies booklet.


Not all areas and religious establishments are open to tourists. This is to ensure that monastic life can continue unhindered, and for environmental and safety concerns.

The Following Dzongkhag (district) areas are open to tourists.

  • Kharbandi Lhakhang, Phuentsholing
  • Kamji Lhakhang, Phuentsholing
