Tourist Authority of Bhutan - Entering Bhutan

The following is an excerpt from the official Bhutan Tourism Authority's rules and policies booklet.


Entry points into Bhutan are by road through Phuentsholing in the South, or by air in Paro. Druk Air, the national carrier is linked to six cities in five countries. Ther are four flights a week from Bangkok, Three flights a week from Calcutta, two flights a week from Delhi and Kathmandu, and one flight a week from Dhaka and Yangon.

BAGGAGE

All visitors are required to complete the customs form upon arrival at Paro. The following items are exempted from customs duty:    a) personal effects for day to day use
   b) 2 liters of alcohol, 400 cigerettes; 150 gms of pipe tobacco
   c) instruments, apperatus or appliences for professional use
   d) photographic equipment, video cameras and other electronic goods
