No US travel warnings for Bhutan!
The US State department has issued no specific travel
warnings for Americans traveling to the countries of Bhutan, India,
Thailand. Aside from the normal warning to avoid large crowds in Nepal,
Americans are simply urged to exercise caution world wide. The border
between India and Pakistan on the opposite side of the Indian subcontinent
is very tightly controlled and far from Bhutan. The people and the
governments of Bhutan, India, Thailand and even Nepal are very friendly
towards Americans and have demonstrated their solidarity with the USA
during this time of mourning and resolve. Flights on Druk Air have always
had the strictest security and the best pilots in the world. Many of
Bhutan's pilots were trained by the world famous American pilot
"Captain George."
Bhutanese tour operators encourage all visitors to
continue with their travel plans and consider travel to the Kingdom of
Bhutan to be extremely safe for Americans and all visitors at every step
of the way. Be sure that security is as tight as it ever has been and
means that this is the safest time of all to travel and Bhutan is one of
the safest places for anyone to be.
